With a continuing heavy focus on skills level in the UK, the concept of lifelong learning is gathering pace. This is not a new 'Buzz Word'. It has been around for many years and simply is what it says: Learning is lifelong because life is a learning experience.

With this in mind and conscious that many do not have formal training opportunities, Rosalie has written a series of easy to read books which will guide you through the minefield of personal effectiveness in life in general and your career; enabling you to realise your potential.

Rosalie spent many years in industry in a banking and sales management environment before transferring and expanding her skills & knowledge in adult learning. Through local colleges, she worked with client organisations in a cross-section of environments in business and management and key skills programmes in the workplace. This gave her a very close 'view from the coalface'.

Who are these guides for?

  • Designed as a support material for a wide range of learners in a wide range of settings, both formal and informal, this Lifelong Learning:Personal Effectiveness series of guides, aims to take some of the mystery out of new experiences and challenges which face us in the drive to raise our skills levels and economic prosperity.
  • Suitable for school-leavers 15 years up who want to ensure they can take control of their own learning & development and prosperity..
  • Suitable for Professional and Vocational learners of various levels, all books will be available in print and e-book formats.
  • Aimed at the home learner and designed to read in bite-sized chunks, these guides are suitable for  someone who is unable to attend formal courses or, indeed, where no formal course in college can meet the underpinning knowledge and skills needed to 'get on in life'.

Initially, the series will look at the background to lifelong learning and some research into various viewpoints and experiences of mature learners.

Following this will be an introduction the how to structure your continuing personal development. The basic principles here can be applied to any level in various degrees of complexity. Therefore the book will be suitable for a cross-section of ages and occupations.

The books are planned to cover a cross-section of disciplines and topics. All aimed at helping learners to grow, develop and succeed.

The first in a new series - Lifelong Learning:Personal Effectiveness - this book revisits research carried out  in 1999/2000 which examined:
  • Llifelong learning
  • Its meaning
  • The governments of the day's perspective and aspirations for the future
  • The experiences of a cross-section of professionals and educators when they were at school and afterwards.
  • The effects of the educational policies of the day on their progress then and that of their employees.
The research is brought up-to-date with a reflection of 'where we are now' and reference to the Wolf Report 2011. It brings a new perspective and focus to this very relevant issue today.
